Bombardier to produce body shells for high speed trains in Poland

Bombardier Transportation Poland, specialising in solutions for rail and aviation transport, invested PLN 250 million (EUR 50 million) in a new manufacturing facility in Wrocław, Poland. The plant will produce high speed train body shells and trailer bogies for Deutsche Bahn railways. The investment will create 100 new jobs and increase total employment to 800 jobs. The project was run by the Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency.
Wrocław plant is the first in Poland, joined the world’s elite companies participating in the construction of high-speed trains.

For the production of the 28 meter long individual steel-bodied cars the company will introduce 3D laser welding technology, never used before in railway industry in Poland.

Investor intends to cooperate with Polish partners and suppliers. The production is to start at the beginning of November this year.
